
## What is abap2UI5?
[abap2UI5](https://github.com/abap2UI5/abap2UI5) is an open-source framework that bridges the gap between ABAP and SAPUI5. It allows developers to create SAP Fiori-like user interfaces directly in ABAP without needing to work extensively in JavaScript or other UI5-related languages.

## Available abap2UI5 automations

### Deploy abap2UI5 repository
abap2UI5 is the core project for the abap2UI5 framework. It lets ABAP developers create modern SAPUI5 applications directly in the ABAP programming language. Forget about needing external tools or languages like JavaScript, OData, CDS, or RAP—this framework has you covered.

While the installation is well documented, it involves a lot of steps that are more tedious than valuable. Nuve automation will, you guessed it, automate all the steps needed to install this repo, including:
1. Checking requirements like installing the abapGit developer version, creating packages, and validating certificates.
2. Installing automation tools to let the Nuve Platform handle the workflow, skipping any requirements that are already met.
3. Installing the abap2UI5 core repository and associating it with a local package using abapGit.
4. Creating and configuring the SICF, which acts as the HTTP endpoint to render UI5 applications in a browser. No need for OData or BSP.
5. Cleaning up the instance so it’s ready for the next automation.

### Install abap2UI5 samples repository
The [abap2UI5/samples](https://github.com/abap2UI5/samples) repository is a goldmine of examples and sample applications. It’s the perfect resource to dig deeper into abap2UI5, including:

## How to run automations
### Requirements for abap2UI5
- Available automations will be introduced to all users in phases.
- A running instance.
- A valid license installed on the instance.

### Steps to start automation
1. Log in to Nuve and navigate to the automations page.

### Access abap2UI5
1. Click the `Connect` button on the instance you selected when running the automation. ![Connect button](/images/blog/btp/connect.png)
1. Next, a modal will open, click the Open Fiori Launchpad button. This will launch Fiori on your browser. ![Fiori launchpad button](/images/blog/btp/open-fiori-launchpad.png)
1. **Replace the default path in your browser's address bar** with `/sap/bc/z2ui5`.   
For example:   
`...nuve.run/sap/bc/ui2/flp?sap-client=001&sap-language=EN` → `...nuve.run/sap/bc/z2ui5`.

### History
Check out your automation history to see past actions. Just click the History button for the automation you want to review.

## Common errors
- **Missing instance**: Make sure the selected instance is running and properly configured.
- **Invalid license**: Double-check that your license is active and valid.
- **Manual changes or uninstallation of abapGit**: Ensure you haven’t altered or uninstalled abapGit.

Only enterprise customers can create and edit custom automations.
