
# Why personal plan instances delete after 3 hours
Developers often work in short sprints, especially when tackling side projects. If you're using the ABAP Platform on the Nuve personal plan, you're likely in this boat. The reality is that most SAP systems are not heavily used all the time. Instead of wasting a lot of money running a system you are not using, the Nuve personal plan automates the deletion process to keep your instance running for just 3 hours at a time.

# How to extend your time
Of course there are always exceptions, and we get that. You can easily extend your SAP instance's uptime when there are 30 minutes or less left on the clock. Feel free to do this as often as you like, but keep in mind that you've got a monthly cap of 30 hours.
